Ann Kathaleen (Penrod) Tilley, age 79, passed away on December 24, 2022 at home in Middleway, WV, surrounded by her family. Ann was born February 20, 1943 in Washington, DC. She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Tilley, two children, Jennifer Ann (Eric) Moran of Inwood, WV and Brian Freely (Carolynn) Tilley of Harpers Ferry, WV; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ann was a loving wife and best friend to Charles for 57 years. She was a 1961 graduate of Oxen Hill, Maryland, High School. Upon graduation, she was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency for 10 years. With the birth of her daughter, she became a devoted stay-at-home mother. Once her son entered high school, she re-entered the working world. Ann was a Jefferson County school bus driver for 16 years before she retired.

She was a member of the Middleway United Methodist Church. She was secretary of the Country Roads Car Club for four years. She enjoyed traveling to car shows and cruise-ins with Charles. She was very skilled at sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts and looking for treasures at yard sales.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Kirby Penrod and Sarah Myrtle (Hall) Penrod, her sister Dorotha Louise Harless and brother, Charles Kirby Penrod, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425, with Pastor Tim Butler officiating.

Internment immediately to follow at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, 2938 Charles Town Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Ann’s name to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
