We are sad to report that we received a message from Chico Rivers' wife Jayne regarding Chico's passing:
Chico (Merrill) Rivers passed away on November 29, 2017. The cause of death was issues related to his diabetes. Chico's home was in Mechanicsville, Maryland and he is survived by his Wife Jayne Rivers and Daughter, Veronica Rivers.
Chico's passing was sudden and unexpected; but God knew. Was avid in sports in high school. He continued in sports in softball and he loved gold. Unfortunately he was unable to play golf for about 2 years but that did not stop him from making Kokoda's beat even though he could not play. We all miss him greatly and ask for your prayers as we adjust our lives without him. He is always in our thoughts!!!

Chico was a great friend. We had a great visit at the 50th reunion reminising about riding bus #24. I appreciated that Chico and Tim Fox would play with my church basketball team when we were in high school. May God's blessing be on Chico and his family.
