My condolances to Faye and the rest of his family.  Kenny and I stayed in contact after the reunions.  We even met for a beer on a trip to DC that he made with his son.  I will remember him as a friend.

Ken and I were best friends all during our Junior and Senior years.  There was absolutely nothing romantic about it; we were just buddies. It  began in US History class, we sat next to each other in that awfull, boring, football teacher's class.  We wrote silly notes to each other and found ways to cut class and not get caught.  We figured out that the teacher made us read the chapters for home work then discuss them in class and answer the questions at the end of the chapter.  The test was always those same questions.  I think the whole class got A's.  The next year we got that poor man who smoked and was always late to Psychology class  because the Teacher's room was a long way down the hall.  Mostly, he just talked about his divorce.  Once again, we sat next to each other and found cutting class was even easier.  Some times I had a car so we made quick trips to McDonalds.  Other times we just talked.  We had a common goal - to get out of OHHS as soon as possible.  All he talked about was going into the Air Force.  All  I wanted was to get back to Texas.  We had to write a paper for some class and Ken was mad because I said I'd help him, but I wouldn't write it for him!  He reminded me of that at the reunion.

It was wonderful to see him at the reunion.  We had lost track of each other.  He recognized me imeadiately from across the room.  He had changed, but I knew his voice.  We sat together at the dinner where I had the chance to meet and talk with his lovely wife, Faye.  We agreed Kenny was about as stuborn as they come.  He was a very dear man, and a great friend.

I am a widow, as well.  If any one knows how to get in touch with Faye, I would really like to send her a note.
